Maker's Nook Vendor Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to every Maker selling on Maker's Nook. Please read them before opening your shop.
Eligibility & Scope
Vendors must be 18+ and reside in South Africa or operate a registered local business. Only handmade, locally produced, or locally designed items are allowed. No dropshipping or mass-imported goods
Account and Listing Management
Vendors must maintain accurate listings, respond to messages within 48 hours, and ship orders on time. If a vendor does not sell any products within 3 consecutive months, Maker's Nook may suspend or deactivate their store.
Product Requirements
All items must be safe, legal, handmade or designed by the vendor, and not infringe any third-party intellectual property.
Fees and Payment
A platform commission [to be defined] is deducted from each sale. Payouts are processed within 7 business days after delivery confirmation.
"[to be defined]" is a placeholder inside a clause Makers are agreeing to be bound by — it needs a figure or the clause needs rewording. And this payout wording contradicts the Fees & Payouts page, which says a Maker requests a payout and approved withdrawals are typically paid on Fridays. Delete this note once both are settled.
Shipping, Returns & Customer Service
Vendors are responsible for packing and shipping their own orders, using quality packaging. Returns are required for incorrect or faulty items.
Privacy & Data Use
Vendor use of customer data is limited to fulfilling orders and related communication. No marketing or third-party sharing allowed.
Vendor Conduct
Vendors must act professionally, avoid false claims, and maintain quality and responsiveness.
Intellectual Property
Vendors are responsible for ensuring their products do not violate any copyrights or trademarks.
Platform Rights
Maker's Nook may promote or remove listings, and update terms or fees with 14 days' notice.
Termination
Either party may cancel the agreement. Maker's Nook may terminate vendors with repeated issues or inactivity over 3 months.
